Office of Community Safety to hold community feedback session

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. - The Office of Community Safety (OCS) invites residents to attend a community feedback session to share input, perspectives and priorities to help shape the office’s strategic plan.
There will be eight feedback sessions for community members to select from.
Tuesday, January 20
- 9 – 11 a.m. at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, 352 Devers St.
- 12 – 2 p.m. at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, 352 Devers St.
- 3 – 5 p.m. at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, 352 Devers St.
- 6 – 8 p.m. at the Smith Recreation Center, 1520 Slater Ave.
Wednesday, January 21
- 9 – 11 a.m. at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, 352 Devers St.
- 12 – 2 p.m. at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, 352 Devers St.
- 3 – 5 p.m. at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, 352 Devers St.
- 6 – 8 p.m. at the Fayetteville-Cumberland Youth Council, 725 W. Rowan St. This session is for youth ages 12 – 18 only.
Residents interested in participating in the sessions are required to register at FayettevilleNC.gov/OCS.
"The Office of Community Safety was created to reflect the needs and experiences of the community,” said Director of the Office of Community Safety John Jones. “These feedback sessions allow residents to directly inform our strategic plan and help ensure our work remains grounded in prevention, coordination, and community-led solutions."
Attendees will have the opportunity to meet the OCS team and learn about the office’s four focus areas: community-based violence prevention, youth initiatives, mental health response and diversion, homelessness response.
Established in 2024, OCS operates as a collaborative, solutions-focused connector, centering its work on care, coordination and prevention rather than enforcement or regulation.
